Robert J. Charles

While I am at the end of this doctoral program in Business Administration, it makes sense to present this professional portfolio as a requirement to showcase an academic and professional set of skills acquired through insightful classes, scholarly research, and writing. I am born in Haiti and I have worked in the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Haiti as a pastor, Mission Treasurer for eight years. I was also a Theology Professor and Dean of the Theological Seminary in Haiti. I live in New York for the past 16 years. For eight years I was the pastor of Gethsemane Church, which has more than one thousand members.  Now I am actually the Ethnic Coordinator of the 21 Haitian churches and groups at the Greater New York Conference.

After my DMin, in a dream, God has led me to study especially in Business Administration. I was so happy when this was open to me. I am really grateful to my Lord! The Ph.D. program gives me new paradigms to navigate any organization. It helps me to understand better how to lead and make plans. May this portfolio give you an idea of what I have learned by God’s grace during this program. Thanks!

Mission:

I feel my mission is to save people. I believe God wants me also to mentor some young pastors in the pastoral ministry.

Vision:

I want to help people to get a better version of themselves by God’s grace. I pray the Lord to help me to do the utmost in this life for His name’s sake. My vison in life is that anything is possible if you stay connected with Jesus. One verse in the Bible that summarizes my vision is Psalm 87: 7, “All my springs are in you.”

Philosophy

I want my life to be on this earth for God’s glory.  Life is very short. I want to live with joy and be ready to do whatever God wants me to do. We will pass once on this earth. I want to be and to do the most possible through the Holy Spirit for God’s glory and to help others. I want my family to be happy. I believe that the most important thing for a leader is to be honest. I believe your life will succeed on this earth if we follow Joshua 1: 8 “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success”
